On this months RAW, at the round table we discuss if you really need a tent to go overlanding, is physical fitness important for a motorcycle trip, handling money in different countries and going to the toilet.
Tents: Do you really need to go overlanding with a tent?
Fitness: Is being physically fit an important part of setting out on a big trip?
Money: How do you handle your money or money sources when travelling? Carrying money? Transferring money? Exchange? Do you spend all your money in a country before you leave it and then get money in the correct currency in the next country? Or how do you do it?
Happy New Year: We’re in to 2018, what will the RAW panel get up to this year?
James G: There's one thing that makes me hesitant about travelling through Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. It's not wild animals, dodgy food, or terrorists. It's poo. The idea of using a non-western toilet makes me pucker. How do you handle it? Do you bring your own loo-paper and pretend you are safe in your own bathroom? Or do you learn the lavatorial etiquette for each country you travel through?
